BIBLE APP FOR WOMEN · FREE TO DOWNLOAD

A verse a day, a sister beside you.

Hello! Welcome to VerseMates :)  One Bible verse each morning, a friend to read it with, and a kind little community to bring your prayers to.

It’s a free iOS app: a private chat with one trusted friend, a public prayer wall called Gather, the whole Bible offline in the Berean Standard, King James and Reina-Valera translations, and an optional guided study walk each month.

HOW VERSEMATES WORKS

A quiet rhythm you can keep.

No streaks to break, no shame if you stumble. Four gentle steps, repeated with grace.

STEP 01

Read the verse

Wake to a hand-picked scripture set over a still, beautiful scene. One verse — enough to carry all day.

STEP 02

Check in with grace

Faithful, struggled, or fell short — answer honestly and VerseMates meets you with a word of mercy, never a scolding.

STEP 03

Walk with a friend

Invite one trusted friend. Share the verse, send a prayer, and cheer each other on — privately.

THE DAILY VERSE

A daily Bible verse, always in view.

One verse each morning. Add the widget and it greets you every time you pick up your phone, on a scene that stills you — dawn, dusk, mist, forest, or night.

“It is because of the LORD’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning.”
LAMENTATIONS 3:22-23

WALKING TOGETHER

Faith was never meant to be walked alone.

Invite one person you trust. Each morning you can send them the verse, write a short prayer, or simply say “thinking of you.” When the day is hard, they'll know — and they'll be there with grace, not judgment.

  • Share a verse or a prayer in one tap
  • See each other's gentle check-ins
  • Private by invitation — no timelines, no followers

GATHER

A prayer wall where everyone’s week shows up.

Beyond the one friend you walk with, there is Gather — a prayer wall for the whole community. Ask for prayer when you need it, or share the small thing that made the week. Others answer with an Amen, or tell you they are praying for you by name.

  • A prayer request, or just sharing — no ask needed
  • Post with your name, or without it as “Sister”
  • Mark a request answered when it is, and say what happened

How Gather works

Gather is public, and free. Read our community standards.

WHAT PEOPLE BRING

A request, a praise, or just the day you had.

Three examples of what a post can be. The real ones are in the app.

A request can be one line. There is no form to fill in, and nothing you have to explain.

When a prayer is answered, you can mark it and say what happened. The card keeps its place, and the people who prayed get to hear the end of it.

JUST SHARING
Morning light over a kitchen sink
my grandma said ‘this is the day the Lord has made’ every single morning at the kitchen sink. 9 months since she passed and now I catch myself saying it
SSam

Most days there is no ask. Someone read a chapter, someone planted something, someone just wanted one other person to see it.

HOW YOU ANSWER

Amen, or “I’m praying for you.”

Amen

One tap that says: I read this, and I am with you. Nothing else is asked of you.

Pray for Nate

On a request, you can tell them you are carrying it. They see their own name in it, and a small number — never a crowd.

Those are the only two ways to reply, and that is on purpose. No followers, nothing to scroll for — a community praying for one another by name.

PRAYER REQUEST
asked for prayer at group last night for the first time in 4 years of going. nothing dramatic happened. I just didn’t want to drive home carrying it alone again

WHO YOU WALK WITH

A Bible app you use with other people.

VerseMates is built around three circles of people: one friend you invite to walk with you privately, the whole community on Gather, and the monthly walk everyone reads at the same time. There are no followers and no feed here — just a few people praying for each other by name.

Walk with one friend

This is the private half of VerseMates. You invite one person you trust, and each morning you can send them the verse, write a short prayer, or say you are thinking of them. You see each other's check-ins — faithful, struggled, fell short — and nobody else does.

How to pray for a friend

Gather, the prayer wall

Gather is the public side of VerseMates: a prayer wall anyone in the community can post to, under your name or as “Sister”. There are two ways to answer a post — an Amen, or telling someone you prayed for them by name.

See how Gather works

Kept safe

Every post on Gather carries Report and Block, and a post reported by three people is hidden automatically. Nobody on Gather can message you privately, and there are no public profiles — the only person who ever sees your walk is the friend you invited.

QUESTIONS

Good to know

The app is free to download, and the daily verse, the home-screen widget, the Bible reader, Gather and walking with a friend are all included. Study plans are a subscription: 7 days free, then $6.49/month billed yearly or $12.99 monthly. Day one of each walk is free.

One guided walk a month with a session each morning, which you can read or have the app read aloud — this month, fifteen days in the Psalms of Ascent — plus all 12 past walks, from Advent to the Sermon on the Mount. A new walk is added every month; The Prayers of Jesus arrives in September.

Gather is the public side of VerseMates: a prayer wall where you can ask for prayer or simply share how the week is going. Others reply with an Amen or by telling you they are praying, and you can post without your name if you would rather. It is free, and separate from the private chat you share with your friend.

You invite one trusted friend. Each day you can share the verse or a short prayer, and see one another's gentle check-ins — faithful or fallen — always framed by grace, never shame.

VerseMates reads the Berean Standard Bible by default, with the King James Version and the Reina-Valera 1909 a tap away in Settings.

Your reflections are private by default. Only the friend you personally invite to walk with you can see your daily check-ins — there is nothing public about them.
